Jet2 launch cheap flights for summer 2021 – with flights from £47pp – The Sun

JET2 has launched a range of flights for next year's holidays – as the country faces uncertainty over whether they'll be going away this summer.

The travel company's package holidays and flights have gone on sale this week, featuring destinations in Spain, Greece, Turkey, Portugal and Italy among others.

The offers come as the travel industry struggles to cope with the coronavirus pandemic, which has sent both the UK and the most popular foreign holiday spots into lockdown.

Travel has decreased sharply as more and more countries apply tough new restrictions to limit the spread of COVID-19.

Last week, Brits were told they shouldn't travel anywhere outside the UK for at least 30 days to stop the spread of coronavirus.

The Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab told the entire nation to stay put unless it is absolutely essential – cancelling all holidays and trips.

The EU also said it would ban all travel in and out of the Schengen Zone for a month to try to stop the spread of the virus.

The rules have thrown the holiday plans of millions of Brits into chaos.

Many have had their holidays cancelled by the current government ban, while others are wondering if trips booked for the summer will go ahead too.

But Jet2 will be hoping that Brits feel confident enough to be able to book trips for next year.

Among the offers are flights from London to Lisbon in September 2021 from £47pp, flights to Fuerteventura in May 2021 from £87 and flights to Antalya in September 2021 from £76pp.

They have also launched a range of package holidays, which require a £60 deposit and the balance to be paid at a later date.

Paul Charles, an aviation expert and head of the travel consultancy The PC Agency, recently told Sun Online Travel that when we come out of the pandemic, holidaymakers can expect to see some incredible deals.

He said: "At the moment I think it’s far from people’s minds. They want to hunker down and make sure the people they love are safe.

"But it will come, it will bounce back and the silver lining is that there will be great deals at some point.

"When the confidence returns and airlines can start flying again, they will have terrific deals on offer for consumers."

Last week, easyJet launched their winter sale early, with £29.99 flights to Europe – despite the current uncertainty of coronavirus.

The flights, which can be booked today, are available for travel between 25 October 2020 and 28 February 2021.
