I’ve worked at Disneyland AND Disney World – everyone thinks they’re the same but here’s how to get a cheaper holiday

A DISNEY employee has revealed how to do a magical Disney break on a budget.

Dana Bisbee has worked at both Disney World in Florida and Disneyland in California.

She has dished out some insider knowledge on what makes each destination unique and which ones Brits can make the biggest savings at.

When it comes to doing Disney on a budget, Dana recommends looking into accommodation options, where the Florida parks come out on top.

She explained to Insider: "Disneyland only has three resorts… all three are in the 'deluxe' category with an average rate of £364 a night.

"But Disney World has over 25 resorts broken down into five price tiers: deluxe villas, deluxe resort hotels, moderate resort hotels, value resort hotels, and campsites."

Prices of accommodation at Disney World in Florida range depending on season and business levels.

But rates typically range from as little as £80 a night for value accommodation, through to £800 for the most luxurious rooms.

However, if your family are Marvel fanatics then Disneyland in California might be the best option with the newly opened Avengers Campus.

When Disney bought Marvel in 2009, the theme park rights to several major characters were already owned by Universal Orlando Resort.

Because of this, Disney can't use characters such as Captain America and Spider-Man in their Florida parks.

But Disney have just opened their first Marvel themed ride at Disney World Resort with the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind coaster.

Meanwhile in Disneyland California there is an entire Marvel land with Avengers Campus featuring rides based on Spider-Man and Guardians of the Galaxy, in addition to themed areas around Doctor Strange, The Avengers, Ant-Man and many more favourites.

Disney employee Dana also noted how Disney World has two water parks – Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon – while the California park doesn't have any.

A Disney travel agent recently revealed two simple tricks that will help holidaymakers beat long lines at the amusement parks.
