Inside British Airways’ new ridiculously lavish business class suites

British Airways has offered a first look at its brand new business class suites for 2019, and they’re seriously swanky.

We’re talking mini suites with their own doors for total privacy, spacious seats that transform into flat beds, and even a vanity unit so you can stow away your belongings without needing to fight for space in overhead lockers.

The new Club Suites will launch in July on board the airline’s first A350 aircraft.

Business class passengers will also get to enjoy a host of extra perks (plenty of leg room for a start), such as an 18.5-inch in-flight entertainment screen and USB power sockets, 40 per cent more storage and a mirror.

Then there are the plush pillows and quilts, luxury amenity kits and improved menus for those final touches of comfort.

The A350 will start flying short-haul in July to give cabin crew and staff time to adjust to the new layout, before moving over to long-haul routes in October.

BA revealed it has plans to roll out the Club Suites on more aircraft across its network in early 2020.

It’s not the first airline to unveil entire suites rather than just spacious seats for a business class offering; but it does rival Singapore Airlines’ first class suites and Qatar Airways’ suites with double beds.

The A350 aircraft itself also promises to make for a more comfortable journey with reduced noise levels, high ceilings and ambient lighting, as well as higher levels of humidity and refreshed air.

Alex Cruz, British Airways’ Chairman and CEO, said: "The arrival of our first A350 featuring our new Club Suite is one of the most exciting developments in our £6.5 billion investment programme.

"Each new suite has direct aisle access and comes with a personal door – design features which were incorporated as a direct result of the feedback we’ve had from our customers.

"We’ve worked hard to ensure every aspect of the Club World experience from the lounges we’ve refreshed, to the new gourmet menus from Do&Co on flights from Heathrow, and the luxurious bedding we’ve introduced from The White Company exudes the very British style and quality customers expect from us.

"At British Airways we have one of Europe’s largest long-haul fleets and most far-reaching global networks, so it will take some time to make the cabin available to everybody.

"We hope that as more customers have the chance to experience it, they’ll enjoy travelling in it as much as we’ve enjoyed designing it."
