Huge Monopoly attraction is launching so board game enthusiasts can play the game in real life – The Sun

BOARD game fans can live their dreams in real life in a new attraction based on the famous Monopoly.

Aptly named, Monopoly Dreams lets guests experience some of their favourite parts of the game in real life and even win prizes.

It is due to open on October 26 and is the first Monopoly-themed attraction in the world.

Inside the 20,000sq. ft area, both indoors and outdoors, are seven rooms based on the cards such as Bank and Community Chest.

According to CNN, guests will enter through Mr Monopoly's secret home which features Monopoly collectables and life size models of some of the playing pieces such as the classic car.

To Pass Go, you walk through a neon-lit tunnel before emerging in the Monopoly town.

In the room based on The Bank, guests can try and catch coupons which can be used to spend at the gift shop and cafe.

One that will be popular is the Fortune Board – where you could win prizes such as business class flights or 1kg of gold.

Don't be bad though or you could still end up in a fake Jail.

Other experiences include 4D short films at The Train Station.

There is also a story running throughout the experience – a villain is trying to steal Mr Monopoly's treasure, with guests trying to solve the mystery and save the diamond sceptre.

Sadly the new attraction is currently only opening in Hong Kong.

However, there are plans to roll it out across the globe with a new resort planned for Australia

Macci Li, public relations representative for Monopoly Dreams, told CNN Travel: "The idea is that none of the players will go home empty-handed."

Fans will also be able to buy Monopoly themed items such as clothing and gifts from the shop, as well as snack on food at the Monopoly cafe.

Tickets will start from HK$220 (£21) per person.

Monopoly was first created in 1935, and has since been translated into 40 languages and is sold in over 100 countries.

Versions include a Friends Monopoly board, a Disney Monopoly and even a feminist Ms Monopoly.
