Hilarious pictures of bored tourists show the mundane side of holidays in new book

A new coffee table book has documented these moments in all their glory.

Bored Tourists explores the phenomenon of travelling to a foreign country with every intention of being inspired by it, only to be left feeling bemused, bored or half asleep.

What began as a chance visit to Barcelona Cathedral led photographer Laurence Stephens to spend the next three summers exploring the cultural landscapes of Spain and Portugal.

From stuffy museums to breathtaking skylines, he presents an unforgiving vision of the tourist experience in the book – available from Hoxton Mini Press for £9.95.

Read on to find out more – even though you're not in them, the pictures are likely to jog some familiar holiday memories.
