THE cheapest flight deals in the UK can be found when travelling from London Heathrow, Birmingham or Manchester Airport, according to research.
However, it is best to avoid Liverpool and Southampton, which have the fewest affordable offers.
The research, conducted by Scott's Cheap Flights, analysed offers over a 12 month period between July 1, 2018 and June 30, 2019.
To be deemed a 'good' offer, the deals had to have substantial savings, with an average of £500 per ticket.
They also had to be standard journeys without too many additional conditions such as routes with long layovers or sparse availability.
The best airport in Europe for bargains was London Heathrow, with 509 deals found by Scott's Cheap Flights in a year.
As the main hub for both British Airways and Virgin Atlantic, the research explained: "Heathrow offers the only direct flight from Europe to Australia, making it the only European airport connected to all inhabited continents.
"The volume of airlines serving the airport – including several low-cost carriers – helps keep prices competitive."
Other high-ranking airports included Paris (447 deals) and Milan (441 deals) due to the number of airlines as well as low-cost carriers which kept prices down.
Manchester also made the top ten with 438 annual deals, despite only have 50 airlines at the airport.
