Australia-Singapore flight diverts following violent outburst from passenger

A Jan. 21 Scoot Airlines flight from Australia to Singapore had to be diverted after an “unruly” man started a brawl midair.

He appeared normal during the boarding process as well as takeoff for flight TR7 flying from Gold Coast in Australia to Singapore, but eventually began bothering passengers. The flight had to be diverted to Sydney Airport back in Australia about an hour and 20 minutes in.

A fellow passenger, Rico David Garilli, captured a few minutes of the chaos and uploaded the video to Facebook.

“After our flight was announced delayed, this guy started drinking heavy,” Garilli wrote. “About 20 minutes into the flight he started becoming aggressive and had to be restrained after all of this kicked off.”

“He strips and goes for a run before being tackled down,” he added, which you can see in the video.
