Airport worker reveals he has seen dead bodies LEAKING onto suitcases in the hold – The Sun

THE next time you fly, you might want to think twice about checking your luggage into the hold, as you never know what can end up on your stuff.

And it's not just dirt and rain – according to one airport worker, your luggage can even end up getting covered with liquid from dead bodies.

In a viral Reddit thread, users of the forum explained some of the things that passengers might not know.

One person said that people's luggage are probably being stored next to body parts that are in transit to hospital.

In response, one user, who claimed to work on the ramp at an airport, explained: "We send full bodies on planes a lot. Some in caskets some not.

"Twice in the 7 years I've been doing this has "fluid" leaked out of the boxes the bodies are in and got all over the luggage."

Needless to say, their comments sparked disgust among Reddit users with one commenting: "That is actually one of the most f***ing disgusting things I've ever heard."

But another ramp worker, who handled luggage in the hold, explained that the likelihood of that happening is quite rare.

They said: "Human juice is not common, but leaky fish returning from coastal locations is almost guaranteed.

"That styrofoam cooler Joebob put his prize catch in? Yeah, it leaks. So does the plastic Walmart cooler, and the Coleman.

"There's only a few, expensive, coolers than won't leak when turned 90 or 180 degrees…and no one is paying attention to the 'this side up' sticker when loading 200 bags."

Unfortunately, fresh catch isn't the only things passengers ship in the hold of the luggage.

A doctor working at Heathrow Airport previously explained how she was once forced to open a suitcase that was leaking blood.

Dr Stephanie Green said: "The suitcase with blood leaking out of it was the last piece of luggage, going round and round on the conveyor belt at Heathrow.

"As a doctor who has spent more than a decade at the Health Control Unit (HCU) at Heathrow airport, it was my job to put on a pair of surgical gloves and slowly unzip the suspect Samsonite case.

"As I peeled back the top of the case, a pungent smell hit me.

"Inside was a lot of screwed up newspaper and a large paper parcel from which the blood was seeping."

Dr Green explained it was a "furless, mutilated animal" that was likely to be "some sort of monkey".

Sun Online Travel previously explained what happens when someone dies on board a flight.
And if you have someone called Jim Wilson on board, they're likely to be dead.

One family member allegedly tried to smuggle a dead family member by covering their face with sunglasses and propping them up in a wheelchair.
