Airline forced to cancel majority of flights from UK airport until 2023 | The Sun

AN airline has announced that they will be cancelling most of their flights from a UK airport until April 2023.

Wizz Air confirmed that nearly all flights from Cardiff Airport will be affected for the next six months, citing "economic pressures".

Wizz Air’s managing director, Marion Geoffroy: "We are very disappointed to have to suspend several routes from Cardiff Airport for the winter season.

"Though these routes have proved popular through the summer season, it would not be commercially viable to continue to operate them through this coming winter due to the challenging macro-economic environment.

"This leaves us with no option but to pause these routes until next spring."

Passengers affected will be contacted by the airline, she added.

TUI forced to cancel more flights to holiday destination until next month

Only flights to Milan and Bucharest will continue over the winter season.

One holidaymaker told local media the news was "absolutely shocking" while the Welsh Government said it was "disappointing" that flights have been suspended.

It comes just months after Wizz Air launched its base at Cardiff Airport back in April.

They aren't the only airline to reduce their flights either.
