Sony is hitting us right in the nostalgia with its incoming release of the PlayStation Classic, a smaller, more personal time-travelling device that will place you right back into your childhood shoes.
We at Digital Spy are fully prepared to get smacked across the face by old memories of playing Metal Gear Solid and Tekken 3 – we are also fully prepared to get smacked across the face while playing Tekken 3 as well.
We managed to snag an early copy of the PlayStation Classic to review – don’t worry, one will be up for you to read this week.

The PlayStation Classic comes pre-loaded with 20 retro games like Tekken 3, Twisted Metal, Destruction Derby and Final Fantasy VII – plenty of titles to get you through an otherwise miserable winter.
That said, many fans were disappointed with some classic PlayStation games being omitted, such as Crash Bandicoot, Tomb Raider, and Spyro the Dragon.
We suspect that might be because Sony doesn’t want to jeopardise sales on its re-released HD versions that you can buy right now for modern consoles.
You can already preorder the PlayStation Classic from a few retailers for just £89.99, in time for its release on December 3. We took a look online to find the best deals, check them out below:

In the box, you will get a shiny new PlayStation Classic – which is much smaller than you remember – an HDMI cable and two classic PlayStation controllers.
The surprisingly dinky console will already have your 20 games loaded onto the system. Check out everything you can play below.
