Terrifyingly lethal 'Poison Fire Coral' fungus found in Australia

A terrifying species of fungus with the ability to kill anyone that touches it has been found in Australia for the first time.

The lethal ‘Poison Fire Coral’ fungus has deadly poison that makes people’s brains shrink when it comes into contact with them.

It is responsible for numerous deaths in Japan and South Korea and has now been recently discovered in Australia. It was found by photographer Ray Palmer while he was exploring a rainforest in Redlynch, in Cairns, North Queensland.

He took pictures of the bright orange fungus that allowed experts to identify it.
