Spotify launches subscription service for couples – and it’s a bargain

It’s one of the most popular music streaming services around, and now Spotify has launched a new subscription service.

The service, called Premium Duo, is aimed at couples, or at least ‘two people living together.’

Each member has their own individual Premium account, with personal login details.

However, you both must have the same address, and payments will only come from one account.

As part of the package, you’ll also get a ‘Duo Mix’ playlist.

Spotify explained: “Duo Mix is a playlist of songs that combines the music you and the other member of your Duo plan listens to.

“It comes preloaded with songs based on genres, artists, and songs that you both have played on your own and updates the more you play.”

While it’s currently still in the trial phase, the new service is a bit of a bargain, costing €12.49 (£10) per month.

This is a considerable saving, given that a single Premium subscription costs £9.99!

Spotify Duo is being tested in Colombia, Chile, Denmark, Ireland and Poland. It remains unclear when, or if, it will be rolled out in the UK.
