Sky is discounting its Superfast and Ultrafast broadband packages, as well as offering a free bonus to new customers. The Superfast package offers an average download speed of 59Mbps, while Sky’s Ultrafast plan offers 145Mbps. As part of a limited time sale, new customers can save on the monthly cost of these plans for 18 months.

The Sky Superfast plan typically costs £27 a month, with the Ultrafast package usually setting customers back £35 each month.

These packages have now been reduced to £25 and £33 a month respectively.

But that’s not all, with Sky also throwing in the Free Anytime Talk plan at no additional cost.

If you were to pick up the Ultrafast package, this would equate to a saving of £210 over the course of 18 months.

Both of these deals will require a £19.95 set-up charge, with prices reverting to £32 a month for the Superfast plan and £44 a month for the Ultrafast package after the 18 months is up.

In the Ts and Cs section of their website, Sky said the offer ends on January 27, so time is running out if you want to take advantage of the promotion.

Those who sign up to Sky broadband will receive a wireless broadband router, get unlimited usage, access to Sky Talk and Wi-Fi hotspots, Sky Shield for anti-malware protection and Sky Talk Shield to help block nuisance calls.

Not only that, but Sky offers their Speed Guarantee to customers – meaning if your download speeds drop below the guaranteed minimum download then you’ll be able to claim for money back.

In other news, Express.co.uk recently reported that Sky rival Virgin Media has announced an early price rise for 2021.

Virgin Media broadband and TV customers are being notified of upcoming price hikes, which will kick into effect in March.

Most of the telecommunication giant’s UK cable customers will see prices rise from between £2.50 and £4.50 per month.

The average increase for Virgin Media customers is £3.63, which is over £40 per year.

The inbound price hike comes after Virgin Media froze prices for the second half of last year.

Speaking about the price rise, a Virgin Media spokesperson said: “Changing prices is never an easy decision, which is why, unlike other providers, this is our first cable price change in 18 months.

“We are currently writing to cable customers to transparently communicate these changes and we will continue to work tirelessly to ensure we deliver for our customers and keep them connected at a time when it has never been more important.”
