Top 9 posts are once again filling up Instagram feeds worldwide as users look to share their favourite snaps from the last year. The Instagram Top 9 trend first kickstarted back in 2016 and has since then become an annual end-of-year tradition. It allows users to revisit the nine most popular posts from their profile over the last year in a 3×3 grid. However, this year things are slightly different, with two different official services available for Instagram users to choose from.
In the past topnine.co alongside its accompanying Google Play Store and Apple App Store apps for Android and iPhone respectively were the only tools you needed if you were looking to create an Instagram Top 9.
However, this year Top Nine creators BetaLabs have launched a brand new service for Instagram called CreatorKit. Like with BetaLabs’ previous offering, CreatorKit allows Instagram users to create an Instagram Top 9 via its Android and iOS apps, as well as on its official website.
And that isn’t the only trick up its sleeve, with CreatorKit offering a bunch of other tools that are designed to make the life of a creator a whole lot easier. Besides being able to create an Instagram Top 9, CreatorKit boasts video editing tools so users can create animated videos, stories and even ads “in minutes”.

Among the video editing tools at a user’s disposal is a text-to-video tool, free video effects and filters and the ability to merge videos or trim clips down to length. The app also comes with “hundreds” of templates designed for different social media platforms.
CreatorKit is free to download but there is a Pro Version that users can pay a monthly subscription fee to access. The app description for CreatorKit on the Play and App Store says: “We started CreatorKit.com with one simple mission in mind: help creators grow online.
“Choose from hundreds of animated video templates, designed for every social platform, including our most popular template: Top Nine for Instagram. Just enter your Instagram account and we’ll generate a collage with your Top Nine Instagram photos of the year. The CreatorKit app also features many simple tools to help you sell, including animated price tags, discounts, and much more!”

On the CreatorKit website BetaLabs also explained that one of the reasons this new app was launched was due to the fake best nine apps that have emerged which pose a security risk to users.
BetaLabs said: “This year we decided to make Top Nine part of the CreatorKit platform, so you can also use our powerful video editor to create videos with your Top Nine photos and videos of 2020.
“Another important factor was that many clones claiming to be the original Top Nine were posing a security and privacy risk, unknowingly using a fake tool thinking it’s our Top Nine tool.”
