Netflix down: Streaming service crashes locking out millions of viewers

NETFLIX DOWN UPDATE 1 –

Good news, the official Netflix website has now acknowledged that the service is experiencing issues.

Writing on the website, they said:

"We are currently experiencing issues streaming on all devices. We are working to resolve the problem. We apologize for any inconvenience."

Bad news, there's no indication how long the errors crashing the streaming service could take to fix.

Netflix is down this afternoon with hundreds of TV fans complaining of error messages causing the streaming service to stop working.

Numerous users are noting that two error messages are showing during the outage Error UI-800-3 and Error 3-5003.

Downdetector also noted the service was facing issues on not just mainland Europe, but also parts of North America.

Naturally, users have taken to social media to complain about the service not working.

One user said: "Netflix is down, how do I waste my time now?"

Another added: “Why has Netflix gone down on my only day off this week? I just want to binge-watch the crown already."

Some did see the funny side though, adding: "Netflix down, now I will have to go to sleep with my THOUGHTS."

As of 2.45pm, Netflix has yet to clarify how long the service might be down or when they expect service to resume in the UK.
