Mum ‘mortified’ after selling son’s games console with adult toy hidden inside

A mum-of-three from West Yorkshire says she was left 'absolutely mortified' after the buyer of her son's games console found a freebie in the box.

Sara Foggo had been trying to make a bit of cash with a pre-Christmas clear-out of her kids' berdrooms and stuck a vintage Sega Mega Drive on Facebook Marketplace for £25..

One eagle-eyed gaming enthusiast Shane Tutton sent mutual friend James Bishop to go and collect the retro console for him.

The sale went ahead as planned, and Sara nearly forgot about it—until she got a confusing message the next morning from James while she was hungover.

James told her: "Hey my mate's really happy with that console… only [thing] is there was a rabbit jumping bout in a sock lol."

He then said it was a 'rampant' one and sent over a picture.

Pictured next to the console was a purple Rampant Rabbit vibrator poking out of one of her mother's socks.

Sara said: "I was absolutely mortified but I couldn't stop laughing. Stuff like this only happens to me.

"I was confused when he first messaged, but when that picture came through I just thought 'oh my God'."

She said she has no idea how the vibrator ended up in the console box. "When I grabbed the box I thought it was especially heavy but I just thought it was the manuals.

"James came that afternoon and I handed it over to him. It wasn't until he messaged me on Sunday saying about the rabbit hopping that I heard anything else.

"I just couldn't work out what he meant. When he said a 'rampant' one and sent me the picture over, I could have died."

Sara said he'd got a "right bargain" and asked for it back.

"I wouldn't have minded but the Rabbit was worth more than what I sold the Sega for. I won it in a competition a few years back but it normally costs £45. I only sold the Mega Drive for £25."

"I don't know Shane but it was lucky it was for him and not a child. Imagine if a kid had opened this Sega box on Christmas Day hoping to play Sonic and there's a big 10 inch Rampant Rabbit with its tail spinning."

What's worse, the sock wasn't even hers, but her mum's.

When she uploaded pictures of the chat to Facebook in 2020, her mum messaged her to say the rabbit was in her sock.

"She's had a laugh about it which is good. I'm even more out of pocket though, I'm going to have to buy her a new pair now.

"I can't remember why I put the Rabbit in that box. People have asked why it was in a children's console box and I honestly have no idea."
