Apple fans were treated to a new MacBook Pro last week with the US technology firm revealing its refreshed 13-inch models. These updated laptops arrive featuring the latest Magic Keyboard, more internal storage and a much more powerful processor which will offer improved performance for those wanting to work on the move.
Prices start from £1,299 but it’s worth noting that you’ll need to spend a lot more if you want all those extras we’ve mentioned above.
The cheapest entry-level machine does include that better keyboard and you now get double the storage with things starting with 256GB rather than the 128GB found on the 2019 base model.
That’s all good news but, sadly, there’s no sign of the 10th gen Intel Core i5 or i7 brains in this laptop with Apple only including the 8th gen chip in this machine – the same brains that power last year’s machines.
If you want those much faster processors you’ll need to spend more money with the things increasing to £1,799 for the 2.0Ghz quad-core i5 model and £1,999 if want the power of the ultimate 2.3GHz i7 chip.
Those prices aren’t cheap but it’s worth noting that if you are not worried about having a Pro on your lap then the new MacBook Air offers a very good alternative.

This machine was updated last month with more power and the inclusion of the updated and much-improved Magic Keyboard.
For the same price as the entry-level Pro, you’ll get an Air with a 10th gen i5 processor, 512GB of memory and 13.3-inch Retina Display.
The Air doesn’t include the clever Touch Bar which changes depending on what applications you are using but you do get a Touch ID fingerprint scanner and market-leading Force Touch trackpad.
