iPhone 12 release date set for October, leaker claims

Leaks and rumours about when the next iPhone will launch are largely superfluous as Apple regularly unleashes its new tech in or around the second week of September.

However, 2020 is like no other year and it seems the coronavirus pandemic may have a part to play in delaying one of the most anticipated gadgets of the year.

Jon Prosser, a prolific leaker of all kinds of new tech, has suggested Apple will launch its new phone in October and that will be accompanied by new iPads.

Prosser didn’t give his sources, or his reasoning for what will cause the delay.

He kept it brief.

The drawings, released by Twitter account @Jin_Store which is described as an ‘Apple Premium Reseller,’ show a boxy design, reminiscent of the iPhone 5.

Other reports suggest Apple may ditch bunding headphones and a charging adapter from the box with the iPhone 12 – which would be a pretty radical departure from previous models.
