Instagram has introduced a quiz button which will let you ask questions of your friends and followers.
The Facebook-owned app envisages its users posing deep questions like: ‘Which emoji best represents me?’
In fact, rather than answering the great moral dilemmas of our time, Instagram hopes the polls will be used to heap yet more attention on the selfie-obsessed people of Instagram.
The Facebook-owned app published a video advising users to post quizzes asking followers what their biggest fear is, which ice cream is their favourite or simply bark: ‘Me as a dog?’
In a statement, Instagram wrote: ‘Starting today, you can use the new quiz sticker in Stories to ask your friends and followers a multiple-choice question.
‘See how well your friends know you.’
For the record, the only people who are genuinely interested in your favourite ice cream flavour tend to work at advertising firms.
It’s not been revealed whether quizzes will be used to gather data on users which will allow corporations to target them with ads.
