Instagram is one of the most popular social media platforms in the world.
However, the client seems to be suffering from an outage this afternoon.
Independent outage monitor Downdetector has registered over 2,100 reports at one time from users insisting Instagram is not working as normal.
An outage map on the site showed the UK, US and a number of European territories being hit the hardest.
The site also displayed a tally of the most reported issues with Instagram.
89 percent of problems were said to have occurred within the app’s news feed.
Meanwhile, seven percent of users were iterated to have experienced issues when using Instagram’s online site.
The final three percent claimed to have experienced log-in problems.
In response, hundreds of Instagram users have flocked to Twitter to express their disappointment at the issues plaguing Instagram.
One said: “Shock Instagram is down again.”
A second declared: “Instagram is boring these days #instagramdown.”
A third stated: Instagram’s down again? Nothing new.”
In addition to Instagram, it appears WhatsApp and Facebook are also suffering from an outage this afternoon.
It is currently unclear what has caused the Instagram outage.
