Instagram is easily one of the most popular apps in the world, let alone social networks.
But this afternoon the software has been plagued by an outage preventing users from endlessly scrolling through their feeds.
Independent outage monitor Downdetector has registered over 1,900 reports at one time from users saying Instagram is suffering from issues.
In particular, fans are declaring the app’s news feed is failing to load.
A map on Downdetector’s site has shown the UK, US and a number of other European territories being affected by the outage.
And of course, it wouldn’t be an outage if users didn’t migrate over to Twitter to vent their frustration.
One said: “Welp. Instagram is down again. Really not surprising anymore.
“I guess it forces me to finish this assignment I’ve been doing.”
A second wrote: “Instagram down the one time I decide to post.”
Another declared: “BUT WHY IS INSTAGRAM DOWN?”
Instagram hasn’t yet commented on the outage.

In addition to Instagram, Facebook also seems to be down this afternoon. It’s unclear if the two outages are related.
