Huawei P30 Pro just received three upgrades and here’s everything new

P30 Pro was unveiled by Huawei back in March; the device is most notable for its quartet of cameras that offer arguably the most diverse photography experience on a mobile device.

The Chinese hardware also comes with a gorgeous 6.47-inch display, a monstrous 4,200mAh battery and a premium design.

P30 Pro runs Android 9 Pie with Huawei’s own EMUI software skin running on top of it.

The Chinese tech giant regularly issues software updates to owners that typically introduce fixes, improvements and sometimes new features.

The latest of which brings three enhancements to the P30 Pro.

Huawei’s changelog for the update stated one of the biggest areas to see an alteration is the phone’s camera.

It was noted the new software version, EMUI 9.1.0.161, “improves photo quality” by making colours “appear more natural and authentic”.

Moreover, it was also stated the “abnormal display of videos” recorded on the phone’s front-facing camera should now be fixed, too.

Huawei’s new update was also said to now allow users to register two faces for recognition.

Finally, the Chinese tech powerhouse also noted messages and notifications can be displayed with a live wallpaper thanks to the upgrade.

Here is a full changelog for the newest version of EMUI that is rolling out to owners right now:

Camera

• Improves photo quality, making colours appear more natural and authentic

• Fixes the abnormal display of videos recorded by the front camera

Face unlock

• Adds the option to enrol a second face

Display

• Allows for messages and notifications to display on a locked screen with live wallpaper

It is worth noting the update also integrates Google security security patches released in May 2019 to improve the security of the P30 Pro.

If your P30 Pro has not automatically downloaded the upgrade, it can be obtained manually by heading to Settings > System > Software Update.
