Has Elon Musk quit Twitter? Tesla and SpaceX boss dramatically 'goes offline'

Elon Musk has sparked fears that he’s leaving Twitter after posting a series of cryptic tweets questioning ‘the good’ of the social network.

The billionaire Tesla and SpaceX founder is one of the undoubted stars of Twitter and boasts an army of almost 30 million followers who are sometimes referred to as the ‘Muskbros’.

In the past hour, he wrote a trio of tweets starting with the words: ‘Not sure about good of Twitter.

‘Reddit still seems good,’ he added.

Elon’s third tweet said: ‘Going offline.’

His fans immediately wondered what was going on with their hero.

‘U OK?’ one asked.

The usual ‘Fake Elon’ scammers then tried to trick people into clicking on dodgy cryptocurrency websites, while one young pup issued the inevitable retort: ‘OK boomer.’

You can see some of the heartbreak in the tweets below.

The much-loved tech billionaire and internet memelord is a such a big fan of Twitter that he recently demonstrated the world-changing power of his recently-launched squadron of satellites by… sending a tweet.

He has thrilled his 29 million fans and enraged financial regulators with his missives, whipping up global drama with his infamous ‘pedo guy’ tweets and finding himself hauled in front of the US Securities and Exchange Commission after writing a post about taking Tesla private with a stock price of $420.

Musk later insisted he wasn’t ‘on weed’ after writing this tweet, but it was later claimed he chose the number because of its significance to herb smokers in a bid to amuse his girlfriend.

He has also delighted fans by making bizarre jokes about The Queen and even dropping a bizarre rap track dedicated to the late, great Harambe the Gorilla.

The billionaire wasn’t the first person to start tweeting under the name Elon Musk, because an imposter beat him to the starting line and ran various accounts under Musk’s name.

When Elon published his first-ever tweet in 2010, he wrote: ‘Please ignore prior tweets, as that was someone pretending to be me 🙂 This is actually me.’

The tweet (which you can see above) was sent by SpaceX and reminded the world that @elonmusk was once run by a fraudster.

It’s unclear who operated @elonmusk or whether their impersonation of Elon had a happy ending.

But just over a year after the SpaceX tweet, Musk joined Twitter and began to amass legions of Muskbros and became the subject of a flurry of memes.
