There hasn’t much information about the release date of the new Grand Theft Auto game, GTA 6, which is expected to arrive as next-gen console exclusive, launching first on PS5 and Xbox Series X.
Previously, an Instagram account called ThatsSoBold leaked details of Rockstar Games’ much-anticipated GTA game.
It claimed that the game will be set in Miami, featuring hurricanes, alligators and Fortnite-style map updates. Plus, the maps will have downloadable content and themes being added to the game with each 'season'.
The game's potential new earlier release date may have been revealed thanks to a report overseeing the growth of GTA's parent company Take-Two Interactive, by Seeking Alpha.
When is the GTA 6 release date?
Despite initial predictions suggesting that the GTA 6 release date was likely to be a while way, sometime between 2023 and 2025, it seems it could be hitting shelves much sooner.
The Seeking Alpha report hinted that we could all expect the new Grand Theft Auto game to arrive within the next two years.
The report read: "Shortly, the company has two high-profile announcements planned, namely GTA 6 in 2023 and Red Dead Redemption 3 (2025/26)," adding that both games will bring increased revenue for the company.
This isn't the earliest date the game could be launched, but it could mean that Rockstar Games might finally announce the project in 2022.
How have fans reacted to the news of GTA 6 release?
As always, fans were happy to hear about the potential arrival of a new GTA game.
Yet, after poor graphical performances and bugs on previous launches like GTA 3, Vice City, San Andreas and the new GTA Definitive Edition collection, fans are also cautious.
While many are keen for GTA 6 to come out, they don’t want to see it rushed out and suffer the same problems.
What many fans are expecting from the new GTA game is a release similar to Red Dead Redemption 2, with Rockstar taking its time to launch an impressive and enjoyable open-world adventure.
What was the previous leak on GTA 6?
The previous GTA 6 leaks came from ThatsSoBold, a verified account, which has since been suspended on Instagram and Twitter. They posted: " GTA 6 will be Announced Nov-Dec & Will Take Place in Miami Featuring Hurricanes, Gators, and MORE!"
The post added the game will return to the GTA III setting of Vice City, and that the map is likely to be three times bigger than the already mammoth map of the previous instalment GTA V.
Though the leaks could be false, many users believe that the fact the account was suspend makes the predictions more likely to be true.
