If you missed the free Google Nest Mini giveaway, then this is the next big thing. These AI-powered smart speakers have received a hefty price cut in a batch of early Black Friday 2020 deals. We’re a little over a week away from one of the biggest sales of the year, Black Friday, which falls on Friday November 27 this time around.

The Google Nest Mini has a recommended retail price of £49, but Currys has reduced the price of the Assistant-powered speaker by over 50 percent. Right now, you can save £30 on the Google Nest Mini at Currys PC World, which is priced at just £19 and available in a range of colours.

Currys has the second generation Google Nest Mini in stock in black, grey and the more funky looking pink colour schemes.

Currys has also included a two year guarantee, so you can get a number of stress-free years of use with the Google smart speaker. And the discounts don’t stop there, with the major high street retailer also reducing the price of other Google Nest devices. The Google Nest Hub has also seen its price cut by £20, from £79.99 to £59.99.

The Google Nest Hub features a seven-inch touchscreen, which comes in handy if you’d rather tap instructions then say them out loud. But this also means the Google Nest Hub can act as a digital photo frame, showing pictures of treasured memories, or as an entertainment hub. You can stream your favourite boxsets on the Google Nest Hub with Netflix, and can easily open the app just by saying “Hey Google, open Netflix”.

Or you can also use your Google Nest Hub to stream songs from apps such as YouTube Music and Spotify. Not only that, but as the name suggests the Google Nest Hub can act as the hub for your smart home, being compatible with over 200 smart devices from more than 50 brands.

Currys has also cut the price of the recently released Google Nest Audio, down from £89.99 to £69.99. Google says their Nest Audio smart speaker offers ‘room-filling sound’ and can adapt to your environment and what you’re playing. So you needn’t worry that a relaxing podcast you want to unwind to will take advantage of the Nest Audio’s powerful bass and woofer software.

The Google Nest Audio will adapt so your “music, audiobooks and podcasts sound even clearer”. Two Google Nest Audio speakers can be paired for stereo sound, while it also works with compatible devices via the Google Home app.

So besides playing your favourite songs, playlists and podcast you can also ask the Assistant-powered speaker to help with household tasks such as turning on lights.

There are also rumours swirling around that the Google Nest Audio could be capable of teaming up with Chromecast to deliver a home cinema experience. This tidbit of information appeared in a Google search result which didn’t end up appearing on the Google store, claiming two Nest Audio speakers could be used to help bring that cinema-quality sound into the home.

It’s unclear whether this feature – which wasn’t available at launch – has been scrapped entirely or will get added in a future update.
