If you own a Samsung Galaxy Note 9 then you’d be wise to check your settings.
A major update is being pushed out to this flagship device which fixes a number of Android and Samsung vulnerabilities including some which have been deemed critical.
This July patch is part of Samsung’s monthly updates which are aimed at keeping all of their latest devices safe from hackers and other cyber threats.
Like all monthly changes this latest offering will be released slowly across the globe with reports that users in France, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt, Nigeria, and Kenya already have access.
It’s unclear if the upgrade also mends an issue which appears to be affecting the new camera Night Mode on the Note 9 and S9.
This recently released change allows these Samsung phones to take improved images in low light but some users have reported that this option crashes the camera app.
Not only does the camera app quit unexpectedly but it also fails to take or store the photo users were trying to shoot.
Instead, a message apparently appears on the screen that simply reads “camera failed”.
Numerous reports have appeared on forums confirming the problems although some owners have confirmed that their devices aren’t affected by the glitch.
Along with this update, Galaxy fans have some more news to get them excited.
A recently leaked image has given the world its first look at the new Galaxy Note 10 with what appears to be official shots of the phone posted online.
The photos come courtesy of WinFuture and Roland Quandt who has a good track record of getting things right.
A look at the pictures clearly reveals a triple rear camera on the case and a screen which covers every corner of the phone.
There’s also a small hole-punched selfie camera at the top of the screen which has allowed Samsung to reduce the bezels.
Finally, fans may notice that the Note 10 appears to be missing the fingerprint scanner which could suggest the firm is going to pop this security sensor under the screen.
This would follow what is currently found on the flagship S10 with that device already including an embedded scanner.
The Galaxy Note 10 will be officially revealed on August 7 at an Unpacked event in New York.
It’s also thought Samsung may unleash its next range of wearables including the new Galaxy Watch.
