Elon Musk has been giggling about Uranus and so have his Twitter followers

Elon Musk spends more than 90 hours every week slaving away to save the world from petrol cars and launch humanity on a journey into the stars.

So you might be able to forgive him for enjoying a little light relief whilst contemplating Uranus.

Over the past few years, the billionaire has somehow managed to find time to become a social media memelord with almost 28 million followers.

He has delighted fans by making bizarre jokes about The Queen and even dropping a bizarre rap track dedicated to the late, great Harambe the Gorilla.

Now he’s waded into action once again to have a good old laugh at Uranus – which is a lovely blue planet with a very unfortunate (or pleasing, depending on your perspective) name.

Musk was prompted to action by a tweet from the Royal Society, a British organisation that’s the ‘oldest scientific academy in continuous existence’.

It tweeted: ‘John Flamsteed FRS, the first Astronomer Royal was born #OnThisDay 1646.

‘His accomplishments include a 3,000-star catalogue, Catalogus Britannicus, and a star atlas called Atlas Coelestis, the establishment of the Royal Observatory and the first observations of Uranus.’

Elon, 48, responded to this message with two laughing emojis, sparking a frenzy among his followers.

‘OMG you’re a frisky fox today,’ one wrote.

Another Muskovite added: ‘Let’s send a probe deep into Uranus to search for alien life forms.’

‘Never even noticed he was checking out my anus,’ one more added.

Now, you might think that Elon is just taking some light relief from an extraordinarily stressful and successful life.

But to yet another of his gazillion followers, his humour is actually a life inspiration.

He wrote: ‘Elon Musk has freed everyone from having to put on the pretence of seriousness to be accepted as successful. I love that.’
