Elon Musk has released a bizarre rap track dedicated to Harambe, the Cincinnati Zoo gorilla that was killed in 2016.
Zoo officials shot Harambe after a three-year-old climbed into the gorilla’s enclosure. Following his death, the 17-year-old Western lowland gorilla became a global internet meme.
And Musk, the billionaire CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, has decided to celebrate April Fools’ Day with an auto-tuned musical ode dedicated to Harambe’s memory.
Called ‘RIP Harambe’, the track includes the lyrics: ‘We love you Harambe’ and ‘Sipping on some Bombay/We on our way to heaven’.
Musk’s social media escapades have won him a loyal fanbase dubbed The Muskbros, but they haven’t exactly endeared him to the suits of Wall Street.
Last month, one of Tesla’s top investors raised the possibility of the billionaire stepping down from the top job of CEO at the electric car firm to take a role as ‘chief ideologue’ instead.
Musk is currently in hot water with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) after publishing a series of tweets about taking Tesla private, which means its shares would no longer be sold on stock markets.
