After months of strict lockdown, businesses in England and Wales are able to open up. Pubs and restaurants with outdoor spaces can once again welcome customers, with non-essential shops, hairdressers, and gyms all open too. As people begin to spend more time away from their homes, mobile data allowances will become crucial once again.

As millions worked and studied from home, connected to their home Wi-Fi throughout the day – there was little need for oodles of mobile data, which is often one of the most costly parts of any pay monthly or SIM-only contract. However, that’s about to change. From sending pictures and videos over WhatsApp, checking directions in Google Maps, answering FaceTime calls, checking profiles on Hinge, finding out the latest football score, shopping on-the-move, and much more… you’ll need to be equipped with plenty of 4G and 5G data.

And that’s where the latest SIM-only deal from EE comes in.

EE is consistently rated as one of the most reliable and fastest mobile carriers in the UK. However, it’s not known for its aggressive price tags.

The latest deal – which the company has branded its “best ever” – is perfect for anyone who is happy with their existing smartphone model. Since it’s a SIM-only deal, you won’t get a new handset from EE with the bundle. But what you will get is a very generous 160GB of mobile data. That should be more than enough to stream YouTube and Netflix on the commute, answer video calls from friends and family, and download apps to order from the table at your local pub.

And if you’ve got a 5G-compatible handset, you’ll be able to tap into that 160GB allowance over super-fast 5G networks. 5G speeds are much faster than the average broadband speed in the UK, so you’ll be able to download apps, software updates, movies and more away from home faster than inside the house.

Not only that, but EE is throwing in some extra freebies too.

Not only will SIM-only customers get six months of free music streaming with Apple Music, but you’ll also get three months of streaming with BT Sport. If you have family members on EE and don’t think you’ll be able to get through the full 160GB allowance, you will be able to share that 4G and 5G data with them too.

There’s no word on when EE’s best ever deal will expire, so if you’re keen to upgrade your data allowance (and tune-in to fixtures on BT Sport for free), you’ll want to add it to your online shopping basket sooner rather than later.
