Creepy ‘Santa’ app sent inappropriate message to 8-year-old girl, mother claims

It’s aimed at young children, but a ‘Santa’ app has been slammed by one mother, who claims it sent her eight-year-old daughter ‘inappropriate messages.’

As the name suggests, the ‘Santa Call & Text You’ app allows users to receive a phone call or text message from ‘Santa’.

According to its App Store description, ‘parents can use this app to encourage good behaviour from your children as you can request a call from Santa anytime and add children to the naughty and nice lists.’

Ashley Adams from North Carolina decided to let her eight-year-old daughter play on the app, but was shocked at the response she received.

According to a Fox & Friends report, Ms Adam’ daughter wrote ‘Hi’ via the app, and received a message back asking ‘What are you wearing?’

Speaking to Fox & Friends, Ms Adams said: “I was just in complete shock. It made me sick to my stomach.”

While the family notified the police and contacted Apple about the issue, at the time of writing the app is still available to download on the App Store.

Mirror Online has also contacted Apple about the issue.

The news comes shortly after another mother in North Carolina claimed that her young daughter had been ‘sexually assaulted’ while playing the popular game Roblox.

Amber Peterson’s daughter was playing the popular game when she pointed out the graphic image to her mother.

On Facebook , Ms Peterson wrote: “Immediately, I see male private parts… exposed… and I just throw my book down, grab her screen out of her hand and shield her.

“At first, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. My sweet and innocent daughter’s avatar was being violently gang-raped on a playground by two males.
