Google has unveiled its latest flagship phone range, Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. These new handsets, which ship with the latest version of its Android 14 operating system, arrive with a new custom-designed Tensor chipset that brings a slew of new AI and photo editing features. Google confirmed on-stage that both Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro will get a guaranteed seven years of new features, major Android updates, and security fixes. That means your new Pixel will still enjoy updates with new features until 2030.
All of these innovations come at a cost. Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro ship with slightly higher price tags, starting from £699 and £999 – that’s a £150 bump on Pixel 8 Pro from last year and it means Google is competing head-to-head with the best iPhone 15 Pro deals.
