Apple’s latest iPhone is about to go on sale – this is how to get first dibs

Just one year after it announced its flagship phone, the iPhone X, Apple has announced a fleet of exciting new handsets: the iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max and iPhone XR.

Following normal Apple protocol, the new handsets are expected to go on sale as soon as the end of September, meaning you don’t have long to decide whether you’ll be investing in the latest – and potentially greatest – piece of technology.

As well as its extraordinary technology, there’s one other thing Apple is notorious for in the mobile world: it’s sky high prices.

The new 5.8-inch model handsets will retail at £999, while the 6.5-inch model starts at £1099 and will be available to pre-order from the likes of Carphone Warehouse and EE from Friday September 14th. The new iPhones will start shipping a week later, on September 21st.

While no networks have released their tariff pricing yet, EE , Vodafone , Three Mobile , O2 and Sky Mobile have all confirmed that they’ll be stocking the new device. Affordable phone retailers Mobiles.co.uk , e2save and Fonehouse will also be stocking the new handsets.

EE

EE, has confirmed it will be ranging the Apple Watch Series 4 with 4G from launch. Their pre-registration is already open, while pre-orders will open from this Friday ahead of launch on 21st September.

Marc Allera, CEO of EE, said: “Only EE customers benefit from the latest iPhone features Apple has announced, and they’ll get the fastest 4G speeds in the UK in more places than any other network.

We’re one of the only providers to offer the latest smart network technology such as the new Dual SIM Dual Standby capability – great if you want to have separate numbers for work and personal use.

EE was the first UK network that supported the 4G capabilities of Apple Watch, and EE customers can enjoy 4G for the new Apple Watch Series 4 from launch and stay connected on the move, even when they leave their iPhone at home.”

Vodafone

The new iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max & iPhone XR will be available soon at Vodafone UK. Customers will be able to purchase the new devices on Vodafone’s Red Entertainment plans, which include a choice of Amazon Prime Video, Spotify Premium, Sky Sports Mobile TV or a NOW TV Entertainment Pass. They will also be stocking the new watch.

O2

Customers will be able to pre-order iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max beginning Friday 14 September and iPhone XR beginning Friday 19 October on the O2 website, in store, voice and online.

Virgin Mobile

Virgin Mobile will offer Apple’s latest products – iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, as well as iPhone XR. Customers will be able to pre-order iPhone Xs and Xs Max from 14th September and iPhone XR beginning 19th October.

Sky Mobile

Sky have confirmed that they will also be stocking the iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max and iPhone XR in the UK, on the Swap12 and Swap24 plans.

Three Mobile

The hotly anticipated Apple iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max will be available on Three. Three will be ranging them in all colours and all memory variants and available to pre-order from this Friday, Sept 14.

Although the new iPhone is undeniably pricey, the price of previous releases still remains fairly high. The iPhone X and iPhone 8’s RRP remain at £999 and £699 respectively (although they do sell for slightly lower at the likes of Carphone Warehouse), despite both handsets now being a year old. Even the iPhone 7 has dropped in price by just £50 in two years.
