Zoe Crabtree reports from Hong Kong where Silvestre De Sousa continued his red hot year to land the jockeys' challenge at Happy Valley

The 37-year-old three-time champion jockey took the honours in the International Jockeys' Challenge, in which he finished second last year, with wins on Glory Star and Experto Crede.

He saw off a top team of international talent including world's best Ryan Moore, French ace Christophe Lemaire and Aussie star Hugh Bowman.

The Newmarket-based Brazilian ace's talents have not been lost on the Hong Kong-based trainers and he has been in great demand since starting a winter spell there at the beginning of last month, which has yielded eight wins.

After landing the title he said: "I was very lucky, I couldn't do it without the horses.

"The support at home has been going from strength to strength."
