WWE Super Showdown 2020 FREE: UK start time, live stream, TV channel, match card for Saudi Arabia mega-show – The Sun

WWE is heading to Riyadh in Saudi Arabia for the third ever Super Showdown pay-per-view.

The Middle East has seen a number of WWE events in recent years due to a new deal with the company which is set to continue up till 2030.

The event always comes with some of the biggest names in sports entertainment, with the likes of Goldberg and Hulk Hogan set to make appearances.

When and where is WWE Super Showdown taking place?

  • The event will take place on Thursday February, 27 from the Mohammed Abdu Arena, Riyadh Saudi Arabia.
  • The main show is set to get underway at around 5pm UK time, which is noon ET, or 8pm in Saudi Arabia.
  • Tune in an hour before to watch the kick-off show.

What TV channel is it on, and can I live stream it for FREE?

The show is live on the WWE Network, which costs £9.99 per month.

HOWEVER, new subscribers get a FREE month trial allowing you to live stream the event.

What are the matches?

WWE Championship: Brock Lesner (C) vs Ricochet

  • This fight has the potential of being match of the night, the fans love an underdog story and it'll be the brute force of Lesner vs the high flying Ricochet.

WWE Universal Championship: 'The Fiend' Bray Wyatt (C) vs Goldberg

  • The icon, Goldberg returns to the WWE ring to face the seemingly unstoppable Bray Wyatt. This will be his first match since WWE Summerslam last August.
  • Goldberg called out 'The Fiend' on a Smackdown episode which aired on February, 7.
  • No one has managed to defeat the current champion since his transition.

The Tag Team Championship: The New Day (Big E & Kofi Kingston) (C) vs The Miz & John Morrison

  • John Morrison returned to WWE in January and instantly rekindled his relationship with The Miz.
  • The pair had previously had runs at the top of the tag team division together where they won the Tag titles on two different occasions.
  • They face The New Day, seven time tag team champions and the current Smackdown brand champions. Kofi Kingston had a run as WWE Champion after defeating Daniel Bryan at last year's WrestleMania.

Tuwaiq Trophy: Andrade vs. AJ Styles vs.Bobby Lashley vs Erick Rowan vs. R-Truth vs Rey Mysterio

  • The Tuwaiq Trophy is up for grabs for the first time in a gauntlet match.
  • AJ Styles, R-Truth and Bobby Lashley are all top draw names, all have held prestigious belts ranging from the WWE Championship all the way to the old ECW belt which Bobby Lashley held.
  • When will we eventually find out what Rowen is keeping inside that cage?

Roman Reigns vs King Corbin (Steel Cage)

  • Another battle with the potential of being match of the night, two top WWE stars confined inside a steel cage.
  • One of the most brutal and unforgiving matches in WWE history.
  • Reigns who is a 'Grand Slam Winner' meaning he has held every possible title in the company will continue his feud with King Corbin who in his own right is a big draw with some big accomplishments.
  • A highly explosive match, which MAY contain tins of dog food.

Bayley vs Naomi (WWE Smackdown women's championship)

  • The returning Naomi gets her title shot against Bayley.
  • Naomi had been out for six-months before making her comeback at the Royal Rumble.
  • This match will be the second women's bout to take place in Saudi Arabia – but historically the first to be for a title.

Seth Rollins and Murphy vs The Street Profits (Raw tag team championship)

  • The Street Profits have been embroiled in the feud between Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens of late.
  • The 'Monday Night Messiah' Rollins and Murphy won the tag team straps from the Viking Raiders on the February 17 edition of Raw.
