WWE star Kairi Sane was left bloodied and battered after suffering a gruesome three-inch gash on Monday Night RAW.
The Japanese superstar was competing in a match with rival Nia Jax when she was thrown into steel steps leading to the ring.
The 31-year-old could be seen in physical distress after smashing off the metal, as the referee rushed to her aid at the side of the squared-circle.
It is understood the match – which was pre-recorded due to the coronavirus pandemic – had to be stopped as medics rushed in from the back.
In a heavily-edited version of the bout shown last night, she suffers the cut before it was cleaned up and she continued.
Sane posted an image of the horrific stitched-up injury on Twitter following the fight, which she went on to lose.
She captioned the selfie: "You are strong. I have lost to you many times. I am small and you may think I’m weak.
"However, you can never beat my heart. I will get back up again. #WWERaw"
According to reports, Sane was temporarily knocked out by the freak accident and left in a groggy state.
It is not known whether the cut is real or part of an on-going story-line between the pair, who are currently feuding.
Jax will now go on to face Asuka for the RAW Women’s Title at Backlash on June 14.
But WWE fans reacted with shock after Sane's injury emerged, with thousands showing support for the much-loved wrestler.
One said: "Your toughness is matched by the kindness in your heart. Stay strong, Kairi, we're always with you!"
Another added: "Love you Kairi! You have a big heart. Everytime you get knocked down, you come back stronger! #NeverGiveUp #KairiSane"
And one commented: "We all love you Kairi. You will get back up as you always do, you are a super strong pirate, who never gives up. Your heart is big and strong."
