Following the huge success Ronda Rousey has enjoyed with the global wrestling giants, the company’s chief brand officer is looking to continue the women’s revolution long into the future.
And McMahon, daughter of WWE owner Vince McMahon, revealed she would love to persuade the legendary 37-year-old tennis ace to swap to court for the squared-circle.
Speaking at WWE’s New York office, McMahon said: “Serena! I want Serena. She’s awesome.”
While the prospect of bringing Williams to WWE remains in the future, the here and now is firmly focussed on those who have led the revolution in women’s wrestling.
And that will be celebrated on Sunday when the historic first-ever all-female WWE Evolution pay-per-view takes place at Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, New York.
But Stephanie admits this huge landmark and empowering occasion may not be taking place tomorrow if not for the fans.
McMahon, 42, said: “It would’ve taken a lot longer.
“The back story is my husband Paul (Levesque aka Triple H) had started recruiting elite athletes from all over the world – both male and female.
“We started training our woman the same as the men and hired our first-ever female coach.
"They started given our woman the same match time and opportunity at live events, which like anything else, the more reps you do the better you become.
“So everyone had an even playing field and it made all the difference.”
McMahon continued: “The women in NXT then started stealing the show and that’s when our audience started chanting ‘this is wrestling’ and that’s what really gave rise to the ‘give women a chance’ movement.
“Our fans are empowered because they know they have a voice and they make things happen.”

And in another groundbreaking twist McMahon has revealed the first 30 minutes of the showcase will be broadcast live on Twitter.
McMahon added: “This will be the first time a WWE Network streaming special will be simulcast on social and we can’t wait for more of the world to experience our 1st all-Women’s event.”
