WWE news: Jeff Hardy returned to action just hours after horrifying Hell in a Cell fall

The “Charismatic Enigma” firstly had a screwdriver sickeningly stuck through his ear against Randy Orton at last Sunday’s pay-per-view.

But Hardy’s worst blow came at the end of the bout when he dropped 20ft from the cell roof stomach-first through a wooden table after The Viper had moved out of the way.

Thousands of the star’s fans were left worried as the Cell structure began to be raised to the roof almost immediately as medics raced to the ring, with the 41-year-old being quickly pinned by Orton to finish the match.

WWE commentator Michael Cole stated Hardy had been taken to the hospital and was throwing up blood while suffering huge “abdominal pain”.

The company then reported he had left the local medical facility of his own accord and he took to Instagram to post a video of himself, donned in face paint and accompanied with a caption saying: “ThankYouSanAntonio,TX&TWTWW ! . . !9-16-2018(:I’ll B alright:)”

Hardy did not appear on this week’s episode of SmackDown Live, leaving many to speculate the daredevil’s injuries were genuine.

However it has now been confirmed the veteran actually worked a WWE Live event the very next day following HIAC.

And the company has also confirmed he will appear at more live shows over the weekend, easing fan fears over his health.

His brother Matt Hardy announced his retirement from in-ring competition on Sunday after struggling with a back injury that had seen his spine fuse onto his pelvis.
