Why are they called Young Boys, and when do Swiss side play Manchester United next?

The Swiss side's latest foray came in the Champions League, where they were beaten 3-0 by Manchester United, thanks to a Paul Pogba brace.

Why are they called Young Boys?

Young Boys was formed by University of Bern students Max and Oscar Schwab, Hermann Bauer and Franz Kehrli in March 1898.

It had followed a game they hosted for Basel Old Boys Association against FC Bern.

Basel Old Boys had only been formed four years earlier and the quartet founded their own side as nod to them.

Young Boys even plays the same colours of yellow and black as Basel.

When do they play Manchester United next?

Following their defeat to the Red Devils, the Swiss side will travel to Juventus next in the Champions League Group H.

They will then face Spanish outfit Valencia twice, before heading to Old Trafford for their Manchester United clash on November 27.

Young Boys will end their Champions League group stages fixtures at home against Juventus.

But will find themselves hard-pressed to make it into the knockout stages, having last progressed before the first round in the top European competition in 1959, reaching the semi-finals.
