Who is Lauren Steadman?
Lauren Steadman was born December 18, 1992, in Peterborough, England without her right forearm.
Despite this, the 25-year-old is a double World Champion para-triathlete and six-time European Champion.
In 2014, Lauren also gained a first class degree in psychology, from Portsmouth University and has since achieved her Masters in Business.
As a swimmer, she competed in two Olympic Games, debuting in Beijing at 15, before qualifying for the final of both the 100m freestyle S9 and the 400m freestyle S9 in London 2012.
In 2016, Lauren secured a silver medal in the inaugural Paratriathlon event at the Summer Paralympics in Rio.
When was Lauren Steadman confirmed to be on Strictly 2018?
On August 20, 2018, it was confirmed that Lauren Steadman would be the thirteenth celebrity to join the Strictly Come Dancing 2018 line-up.
Lauren said she kept the exciting news a secret from her 97-year-old nan and her sister who is a huge fan of Strictly.
She said: "I am a bit nervous, but I think you can revert back to dad dancing if it all goes wrong."
Lauren revealed she won't use a prosthetic on the show because she fears it will fly off during a spin.
She is paired with AJ Pritchard.
When is Strictly Come Dancing on BBC One?
Strictly Come Dancing kicked off with the launch show on September 8, 2018.
The new dancing couples took a two-week break to rehearse before the live shows returned on September 22.
