After Portugal secured top spot in Group A3 of the League phase, the European champions secured the opportunity to host the final.
In March Portugal, alongside Group A3 sides Poland and Italy, all expressed desire to host the final.
But as Portugal topped the group thanks to a 0-0 draw in Italy, it meant they secured the right to host the first ever Nations League final.
Portugal will be joined in the finals by the three other group winners from League A.
Porto's Estádio do Dragão and the Estádio D. Afonso Henriques in Guimaraes have been proposed by Portugal to be the host stadiums.
On Wednesday 5 and Thursday 6 June the semi-finals will be played with the with the third-place match and final following on Sunday 9 June.
England face the promising prospect of booking a place in the Nations League semi-finals, as they sit second in League A, Group 4.
Gareth Southgate’s side face Croatia in their last group stage match and a draw would be enough to secure a spot in Portugal.
England currently sit second ahead of third placed Croatia, with the Three Lions leading their rivals only on goal difference – with Spain topping the group.
A win for either England or Croatia will see them surpass three-time European champions Spain and win the group.
England beat Spain 3-2 in Seville in their last Nations League fixture, and now turn their attention to Croatia – who knocked the Three Lions out of the 2018 World Cup thanks to a Mario Mandžukić winner in extra time.
Nations League competition was introduced to replace friendlies with competitive matches.
All 55 Uefa member associated teams were divided into four leagues with team facing similarly ranked sides.
The winner of each group in Nations League A play in knockout rounds, including final and third-place match in June.
Four group winners in Nations Leagues B to D will be promoted to the league above with teams finishing bottom of their groups in Nations Leagues A and B will relegated to the league below.
