Tyson Fury reveals he has not had sex in 12 weeks to stay focused on Deontay Wilder fight

The Gypsy King, 30, takes on the American on December 1 in Los Angeles with Wilder's WBC heavyweight belt on the line.

He said: “I don't want anything to interfere with that. Between men with our power there is always the danger of brain damage. So no, there has been no sex for 12 weeks.

“It is rare that you have two giants of 6ft 9in in my case and Wilder at 6ft 7in getting ready to punch each other in the face.

“At some point we are going to hit each other but I am blessed with this sixth sense for seeing danger coming."

But while the Manchester-born fighter has been refraining from action in the bedroom, Wilder revealed this month he had sex just TWO hours before his professional boxing debut in 2008.

He knocked out Ethan Cox inside two rounds and admitted: "So many things went wrong with my debut, I end up having sex two hours before the fight.

“I got horny man, I ant even gonna lie, I had my wife in there with me and you just start thinking freaky thoughts.

“That’s why it ain’t good to have your partner in there with you, but for me, I like the company.

“With that right there, that’s a mindset you have to overcome, my mindset – I didn’t care, I thought I’m going to get this p**** you know what I’m saying.

“I said this was going to be my good luck charm because when I do things like that, I have sex, it doesn’t weaken me, it doesn’t make my legs a certain way, it actually gives me energy.

“It’s just like with medicine, different people’s body reactions is different. With me sex give me energy, that’s why I was able to go in there and blast him out."

But Fury insists he has not been getting it on with wife Paris for three months as he gets ready to take on Wilder in Los Angeles.

They pair met at a mutual friend's wedding around 12 years ago and they married in 2008 when they were both 19, refraining from sex until their wedding night.

Paris, now 29, gave birth to the couple's first child Venezuela in September 2009, less than a year after they tied the knot.

Sons Prince John James, seven this month, and Prince Tyson Fury II, born in 2016, followed before Valencia Amber arrived in December last year, the youngest of their four children.

The eagerly-anticipated bout is being staged at the 21,000-seater Staples Center in LA but rival promoter Eddie Hearn mocked the pair for only shipping a reported 8,000 tickets so far.

But Fury hit back by suggesting the fight would have sold out Old Trafford in his home town.

Fury said: “If this was in Manchester we could have filled a football ground with 75,000 people.

“Beating Wladimir Klitschko in Germany and now coming here I'm becoming the road warrior. When I go jogging loads of people are coming up to me.

"They are fascinated about a fight between an American with dynamite power and me with my boxing skills.

Top sports stars on sex before competiton

Usain Bolt – The Jamaican sprinter-turn-wannabe-footballer recently revealed the secret to his success on the track was avoiding sex on the eve of races. Bolt admitted: "In the early days, I did try having sex before a race, just to see if it helped. It was a disaster. I was nowhere."

George Best – Former Manchester United legend Best was renowned for his success with the ladies. And he would often have sex just hours before pulling on his United jersey, walking out at Old Trafford and delivering a sensational performance.

Carl Froch – Fellow boxer Froch abstained from having sex with model wife Rachael Cordingley for three months before his rematch with George Groves in 2014. And it clearly worked as the Nottingham fighter brutally knocked Groves out in the eighth round in front of a packed-out Wembley Stadium.

Mexico football team – Ahead of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, the Mexican players were told to avoid sex during the tournament. The reason behind the order from head coach Miguel Herrera was that it would maximise their athletic performance. They were knocked out in the Round of 16. Again.

Ronda Rousey – The MMA fighter said in 2012 that she would try and have "as much sex as possible" before a fight. This was because sex was linked to an apparent increased level of testosterone in women, ideal when about to enter the Octagon.

Justin Verlander – A pitcher for MLB side Houston Astros, Verlander refuses to have sex with stunning wife Kate Upton before or after big games. He reckons his action in the bedroom could screw with his performance on the pitch.

“But of course the real difference is that I am very good looking and he is not."

Deep down, Fury knows the trash talk is not personal and simply part of his mind games to try and get the upper hand ahead of the fight.

And after they meet in the ring, the heavyweight will be more than happy to enjoy a drink with his rival Wilder.

Fury added: “The moment will come on December 1 when we have to trade heavy blows and we will then see who can take the big punches and who can knock the other out.

“But when is all said and done this is sport, just a fight. I don't know Deontay yet as a man but I'll take him for a beer when it's over, win or lose."

WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua's next fight is on April 13 next year.

It is still unclear who the unbeaten star will take on at Wembley but Fury said it would be "a crime" if AJ did not take on both the Gypsy King and the Bronze Bomber.

He said. "That would be a crime. It's important we all fight each other for it would be a crying shame if that didn't happen.

“The winner between me and Deontay will go on to whatever, the loser must head off to rebuild. But what the fans want to see is the three of us getting it on."
