Tottenham star Dele Alli injured and will miss Barcelona clash and England's double header with hamstring problem

The midfielder only returned to action for Spurs at Brighton last week.

He had previously hurt his hamstring while on Three Lions duty in the last international break earlier this month.

Alli then captained his club to victory, scoring the decisive penalty in their shootout win over Watford in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.

But he felt sore in training on Friday and is now facing another stint on the sidelines in a bid to clear up the niggling problem that has blighted his campaign for good.

It means Dele will definitely miss Tottenham’s trip to Huddersfield today and their Champions League clash at home to Barcelona on Wednesday as well as their home clash with Cardiff next Saturday.

He will also miss England’s Nations League ties in Croatia and Spain.

And he is even doubtful to line up for Spurs’ Premier League matches at home to West Ham and Manchester City and their Euro visit to PSV Eindhoven later next month.

Dele's fitness was the subject of much debate last season and at the World Cup in the summer.

The star had just three weeks off in the summer after helping England reach the semi-finals in Russia.

But Dele denied he was tired after leading Spurs to victory over Watford on Wednesday.

He said: "We know our bodies better than other people and the coaching staff here, as well, put in a lot of work.

"It’s not just you go out and play, there’s a lot of things going into it. They decide we can play and we decide we can play.

"We’re here, we want to help the team as much as we can. We want to play football every day."
