Tom Brady’s Super Bowl 2020 commercial includes message about his future

The tweet heard ’round the world finally has an answer.

Tom Brady sent New England and the football world into a craze Thursday by tweeting a cryptic black-and-white photo of himself walking through a tunnel at a stadium. Theories swirled about what it meant — whether the soon-to-be free agent quarterback was walking onto the field or off of it — and how it related to Brady’s uncertain future.

Turns out the 42-year-old Brady was just making a few extra bucks.

The photo was part of a commercial for Hulu during the second quarter of Super Bowl 2020 on Sunday night, though the beginning still had fans on the edge of their seats.

“They say all good things must come to an end, that the best just know when to walk away,” Brady said in a serious tone as the commercial began. “So to my teammates, my family, and most of all, my fans, you deserve to hear this from me — Hulu doesn’t just have live sports.”

Brady changed into a lighter tone as he read off details advertising the streaming service, then left with a nod to his own future.

“So it’s time to say goodbye to TV as you know it. But me? I’m not going anywhere,” Brady said.

Brady had appeared in each of the last three Super Bowls, but still found a way to be a big part of this one even though the Patriots fell to the Titans in the first round of the playoffs.
