Tiger Woods priced at 1000/1 to join LIV Golf as Paddy Power predict who will sign up next as first event gets underway | The Sun

TIGER WOODS has been priced at a massive 1000/1 with Paddy Power to be the next top golf star to join the LIV series.

The golf legend knocked back the chance to bag $1BILLION to ditch the PGA Tour for the Saudi-backed rebel series.

Greg Norman – tasked with recruiting some of the biggest stars to the new format – revealed the mouthwatering sums offered to Woods to make the switch.

The prospect of being banned from the PGA Tour and potentially future Ryder Cups has meant getting some of the world's top players has been challenging.

None of the current top 10 have made the move (yet) and Rory McIlroy publicly slammed the series too.

Dustin Johnson and Phil Mickelson were the two big names ahead of the opening tournament, with Bryson DeChambeau saying he will join the tour and Patrick Reed and Rickie Fowler set to follow shortly.

Woods knocking back the offer has made him a huge 1000/1 with Paddy Power to join the competition, which kicked off at The Centurion Club outside London today.

Justin Rose and Bubba Watson are the joint favourites to make the switch, both priced at 8/15.

Three-time major champ Brooks Koepka and Matt Fitzpatrick are also near the top of the betting at 11/8 and 6/4, respectively.

At the opposite end of the scale, McIlroy and recent PGA Championship winner Justin Thomas can be backed at 250/1.

Shane Lowry and Jon Rahm are two others at triple-figure prices – backable at 100/1 and 200/1.

A Paddy Power spokesperson said: “Who’d have thought outstanding blokes like Bryson and Patrick would end up falling out with almost everyone, just to sacrifice their whole careers for big wads of cash? I just didn’t see that coming.

“Come on everyone. If you’re gonna try to rip apart a whole sport, at least don’t try to bluff us by saying you’re not doing it for the money. I haven’t seen such an iffy lie since my last round.”
