Thursday's horse racing NAP: Your best bet for today's racing from Callum Jamieson

In the meantime, though, I'm focusing on one of the great northern tracks – Hexham!

I've turned up late to many a rendez-vous with my girlfriend but I reckon LATE DATE will be firmly on time in the 2.30.

He'd shown next to nothing over fences prior to winning very nicely at Sedgefield last time, where the change in tactics seemed to work wonders.

That was only his third start over the larger obstacles so there's bound to be more to come, and ground conditions will be much more suitable than when he was pulled-up at the track on his penultimate outing.

Jock Alain Cawley has had a couple of winners in the last few days and this pair look as good a match as Dec and Holly.

It's not a particularly strong contest and the slight drop back in trip isn't a negative at a stiff track like Hexham, so expect him to be staying on strongest when others have cried enough.

Although rated 101, he manages to sneak into a 0-100 – and that could be crucial.
