Thursday's horse racing NAP: Your best bet for today's racing from Callum Jamieson

Field sizes are suffering again and injuries like the one Master Dino suffered show why trainers have to be so careful.

MASTER WORK (Leicester, 2.20) is one horse enjoying this dry spell though.

Philip Hobbs looks to have found a nice opening for him, back over a course and distance he thrived over two starts back.

He was upped in class at Cheltenham last time and finished an okay fifth behind the impressive Al Dancer.

Ultimately he struggled to live with the winner and the stiff track didn't suit at all. But he travelled as well as any and the drop back in trip on this easier track will play to his strengths.

The handicapper has generously dropped him a couple for that run and he's now only 5lbs higher than his cosy win here in December.

This race is a slight step up but certainly plenty weaker than the Cheltenham heat.

Hobbs doesn't have many runners at Leicester, but is 4-7 this campaign. When he does send them there they tend to go well.

Elsewhere on Thursday…

YOUR BAND (Chelmsford, 7.25) should take all the beating under the lights. He was unlucky not to win last time and more positives tactics should see him home. Hopefully the Roger Charlton horse sets the market up for him.
