'They're like a kids team' – Carragher slams 'absolutely disgraceful' PSG as Benzema nets winner 11 SECONDS from restart

JAMIE CARRAGHER slammed 'absolutely disgraceful' Paris Saint-Germain for their Real Madrid capitulation – and compared the French giants to a KIDS TEAM.

Carra watched on in shock as Karim Benzema was gifted a 17-minute hat-trick.

After Gianluigi Donnarumma's woeful error for his first, Benzema then powered in a deflected strike to make it 2-2 on aggregate in the 74th minute.

However, just 11 SECONDS after kick-off, PSG had somehow conceded to the French striker yet again – giving the ball away and then passing directly to him in the penalty area before a smart finish.

That was enough to secure a 3-2 aggregate win, sending Real Madrid through and PSG crashing out as their desperate hunt for a Champions League title goes on.

Carragher told CBS Sports: "This is absolutely embarrassing, 11 seconds.

"They really have, obviously really difficult position where they've just conceded two goals but to do that straight from a kick-off is absolutely embarrassing."

Thierry Henry, alongside Carra in the studio, pinpointed Marquinhos' horror pass to Benzema.

He said: "It's pretty obvious that Marquinhos has these type of mistakes, he did it a lot in the game.

"Instead of clearing the ball he tried to play and pass the ball to Kimpembe, but Benzema was alert and arrived there before him."

On BT Sport's coverage, Rio Ferdinand defended PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino and hit out at the 'massive egos' of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar, who have to be 'carried' by the rest of the team.

Michael Owen simply labelled PSG as 'soft'.

The humiliating exit means Poch is expected to be sacked, most likely at the end of the season.

Early Champions League exits have generally sparked major change at the Parc des Princes.

In 2017, they shattered the world record to buy Neymar, in 2018, Unai Emery was sacked and in 2019, Leonardo returned as sporting director.
