Spurs fans in meltdown as club use 'photo of doom' to FINALLY announce stadium opening

After countless delays, Spurs sent social media into meltdown when they confirmed their new ground is ready to open.

Tottenham fans feared seeing the photo flash up on social media because it always seemed to bring them bad news.

But their opinion of it soon changed after it was used to announce that Spurs will play in their new home against Brighton next month.

One stunned Twitter user said: "First time you've ever received positive feedback using that image. Congratulations."

While another sarcastically joked: "I've always liked that picture you know."

Another added: "We're used to this being a picture of doom, at last some good news."

The image will haunt some Tottenham fans forever after it was used to announce a number delays to their stadium over the past six months.

It was due to be opened at the start of the season and Mauricio Pochettino's men have had to be stationed at Wembley in the mean time

But Spurs still need to stage two test events at the stadium to gain safety certificates from the authorities.

And this infuriated some supporters because the club revealed that adults will have to pay £10 to go to a test match.

One said: "We wait a lifetime for this stadium to open then you charge us for that? Ridiculous."
