SPOILERS: Full results from NXT UK TV tapings at Plymouth Pavilions: Day One

The stars of NXT UK have today filmed a set of TV tapings at Plymouth Pavilions for the WWE Network.

WWE announced this week that the first episode of the new series will premiere next Wednesday at 8pm GMT.

And a packed house saw the newly-focused roster perform on the first of two nights on the south coast.

Scott Felstead was at the event for Mirror Sport and below are the results in full.

Singles match

The English Lion Eddie Ryan vs. Saxon Huxley

Ryan scored the upset in this opening (and presumably dark) contest with a roll up for the pin. The crowd was 100% behind Ryan.

The new and impressive NXT UK opening credits played on the big screen while the audience cheered enthusiastically.

The Coffey Brothers with Wolfgang cut an in-ring promo. They tell the crowd that NXT UK is their Kingdom. The fans disagree.

Travis Banks comes out to interrupt the promo but is overpowered. Moustache Mountain hit the ring and even out the numbers, sending the Coffeys and Wolfgang reeling from the ring.

Singles match

Mark Andrews vs. Fabian Aichner

Great match with some stunning high flying from Andrews and great reversals from Aicher. In a match of power versus agility, Fabian took things outside the ring and brutally attacked Andrews, who was eventually pinned with a spinning power bomb for a surprising victory.

Singles match

Nina Samuels vs. Isla Dawn

Isla Dawn is looking to be in great shape as the crowd got behind the Scot. Nina dominated the action in the early going but was swiftly pinned by Isla to a popular reaction.

Singles match

Tucker vs. Eddie Dennis

Just moments before the match, Eddie, who is a former headteacher from Swansea, told Mirror Sport that he wanted NXT UK to be friendly competition for NXT stateside.

Eddie used his height advantage to deliver a devastating spinning back-breaker. Tucker came back from the brink but suffered following a Razors Edge into the top turn turnbuckle, immediately followed by a modified sidewalk slam for the pin. Great heel reaction for Eddie Dennis.

Singles match

The Mod Father Morgan Webster vs. Jordan Devlin

Crowd hilariously erupts into a chant of “Let’s go square head” for Devlin. The match was highly competitive and the crowd were into it. Devlin looked to pick up the win following a fast belly-to-belly suplex but failed to put Morgan away. Morgan gets back into the match by nailing Devlin with a backflip off the outside steps. The two battle outside the ring and make it back before a count out. In the end, Devlin picks up the pin.

Singles match

Joseph Connors vs. Dan Moloney

The crowd chanted “Dan” in homage to Alan Partridge and got behind Moloney. Connors sent Moloney sailing into the bottom turnbuckle with a sunset flip. The damage was done and moments later Conners picks up the pin for the win.

Singles match

Wild Boar Mike Hitchman vs. Dave Mastiff

Mastiff, in his ring attire reminiscent to Vader, had his hands full with the smaller Wild Boar, who tied him up in the early going. Mastiff dropped Boar with a viscous headbutt and blasted with with his somersault into the turnbuckle for the decisive win.

Singles match

Tyson T. Bone vs. Ligero

Starting out, Ligero’s high vaulting was met with some wicked blows from Tyson. Ligero scraped back with the fans firmly in his corner, dropping Tyson with a dive to the outside. He followed up with a top rope splash back inside the ring to pick up the winning pin.

Singles match

Rhea Ripley vs Candy Floss

Rhea Ripley (NXT UK Women’s Champion) issued an open challenge which was answered by Candy Floss who is taken out with Rhea’s pump handle power bomb and the further beaten post match for added statement.

Singles match

Wolfgang vs. Travis Banks

The crowd were firmly behind Banks in this hard-hitting contest. The Coffeys tried to interfere on behalf of Wolfgang but were countered when Moustache Mountain hit the ring, assisting Banks with a pin over Wolfgang.

Singles match

The Modfather Morgan Webster vs. Fabian Aichner

Both men had their second match of the evening. Aichner is one of the bigger guys on the roster but can really move. Aichner made Webster suffer outside the ring thanks to the ring steps, much like in his walker match with Andrews, who came out to offer Webster some support.

A “Baldy” chant my the Plymouth massive failed to distract Aichner, who continued to bully the Modfather. Morgan showed heart but was turned inside out by a clothesline. He surprised the fans by staying in the match and, with Mark Andrews watching, reversed a pin for a shocking but popular win.

Singles match

Isla Dawn vs. Killer Kelly

The crowd chanted “Kelly’s Gonna Kill You”, and that certainly looked to be the case as Kelly dissected her opponent in the opening minutes. Isla, pulling double duty tonight, fought back and pinned Kelly with a nice rolling suplex.

Radzi interviewed Dawn post-match, where she asserted her challenge to become the next NXT UK Women’s Champion. This brought out Rhea Ripley. Isla gets a great crowd reaction and it looks like a championship match is in her future.

Tag team match

Kenny Williams & Amur Jordan vs. James Drake & Zack Gibson

A chant of “Stand up if you hate Gibson” broke out as the match begins and, unsurprisingly, football style chants prevail throughout the contest.

Williams and Jordan thrill the crowd with a double dive to their opponents who are outside the ring. Gibson and Drake battle back to the biggest heel reaction of the night so far. The crowd takes their shoes off in distain for Gibson which is pure comedy gold when experienced live. A gripping match ends when Gibson picks up the pin for his team, but their more popular opponents receive a standing ovation for their efforts.

Triple H makes an appearance to hype up the crowd for tomorrow nights show at the Pavilions, boosted by a short and unexpected cameo by Shawn Michaels.

Singles match

Joe Coffey vs. Trent Seven

Portsmouth loved Moustache Mountain but Coffey was no pushover. The two big men traded blows and chops, and Coffey gained the advantage with a headbut to the mid section. This was British Strong Style. The action inevitably spilled over to include the accompanying Tyler Bate, Wolfgang, and Mark Coffey, but action was restored and the match continued.

A superplex loomed sure to put Coffey away but he kicked out in the nick of time. This would set off a series of near falls and the familiar but well deserved “This is Awesome” chant. Coffey then slammed Seven to the outside of the ring with a belly-to-belly suplex. This was undoubtedly the match of the night, and finally ended when Coffey pinned Seven following a stiff lariat.

Tomorrow night, Pete Dunne and Toni Storm are in action, but tonight delivered an action packed Saturday night for the Plymouth faithful.
