SmackDown Live: Big Show joins The Bar, AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan are going to war and Randy Orton isn’t finished with Jeff Hardy

With both Evolution and Crown Jewel coming up, here are five things we learnt from SmackDown LIVE last night.

The New Day want a rematch – but there’s a BIG problem

After last week’s not-so-shocking heel turn from The Big Show – helping The Bar win the tag titles – The New Day were after revenge.

Kofi Kingston challenged any member of The Bar – Cesaro, Sheamus, or new buddy Show – but quickly wished he hadn’t as Show annihilated him with choke slams.

It turned into a six-man brawl, but The Bar demolished The New Day and left them strewn across the ring.

Interestingly, it looks like Big Show has officially joined the ranks of The Bar.

The New Day will get their title rematch at Crown Jewel but can they overcome the awesome power of the three-man Bar?

The SmackDown women’s division is chaos

Just days away from Evolution and all hell has (sort of) broken loose.

WWE showed footage from the Performance Center, where Becky Lynch ambushed Charlotte during a seminar with trainee superstars.

Footage of the brawl has already circulated but it’s still a great watch, giving the Becky vs Charlotte feud a realistic edge.

Back in the arena, an Asuka and Naomi vs Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville tag match turned to chaos when the IIconics, Lana, Carmella, and Zelina Vega all came out to brawl.

It was standard (another word for lazy) booking by WWE to plug the battle royal at this Sunday’s Evolution.

AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan aren’t getting along

Last week Styles and Bryan teamed up but lost to The Usos when Bryan accidentally clobbered Styles with a forearm.

Last night Styles and Bryan lost to The Usos again – this time because Styles accidentally clobbered Bryan with a Pele kick.

Backstage the Crown Jewel opponents bickered because Bryan accused Styles of lying about whether the kick was accidental.

Bryan did a Pinocchio nose gag – suggesting that Styles’ nose was growing from telling porkies.

There’s a reference that’s only 80-years-old.

And please stop giving Styles 'comedy' material – it makes him look like a chump every time.

Styles vs Bryan for the WWE Championship dream match but this certainly won’t go down in the history books as a classic feud.

WWE still has little man syndrome with Rey Mysterio

The returning Mysterio appeared in a Miz TV interview segment, which proved nothing has changed in WWE’s attitude towards the masked superstar.

Mysterio is a veteran of more than 20 years and multi-time world champ, yet WWE is still fixated on his short(ish) stature. (He’s 5ft 6in – hardly Hornswoggle, is he?)

Miz hit Rey with jibes about being the “little man”, “the little engine that could”, and “plucky underdog”.

Miz said that modern fans are interested in “larger than life stars like me” (which really means that Vince McMahon is interested in seeing larger than life stars).

With both men set for the all-American World Cup at Crown Jewel, the interview turned into a brawl and impromptu match.

Rey looks in great ring shape and defeated Miz with a 619 and springboard splash. Another big win for the little man.

Randy Orton isn’t finished with Jeff Hardy

Orton and Hardy faced off in a World Cup preview, just weeks after Orton had tortured his rival in their stomach-turning Hell in a Cell match.

The Viper was up to his old tricks again, twisting the flesh tunnel holes in Hardy’s ears as the Charismatic Enigma hung upside down in the corner.

Orton also smashed Hardy into the announce desk and got the win with a textbook RKO outta nowhere.

It’s been a surprisingly entertaining feud between these two veterans.

And with both men qualified for the World Cup tournament, they could meet again at Crown Jewel.
